Thoughts about Ashley the host...

At the very end of the clip Ashley creates a subtle moral twist to unwind Rand's very precise description of due process. She says:

"I want someone to give me a real good definition of imminent, and I hope the parties will agree on what that definition is going to be because it seemed like the Senator agreed with Eric Holder and the circumstance of the Times Square bomber that would be one circumstance of evidence where you could kill an American on American soil without a trial. Call me crazy but that's what it sounds like to me."

The show then goes to commercial and many viewers who would not have a stake in the matter one way or the other are left wondering, "Yeah, what about that guy?"

The answer was given already by Rand. "Yes maybe" but not with a drone strike in any circumstance. Can police or federal authorities arrest the guy or even shoot him if he's getting ready to press the button sort of speak? Sure. But to just destroy public and private property with a drone strike in attempt to stop a bad guy that we could arrest with a federal agent, is absurd.

Her question was could you kill an American doing bad things, yes, to answer her question, if the bad things were imminent. But she made it sound as if Holder and Rand thought that a drone assassination on American soil was entirely justified. At least that's how it came across to me...like a Jedi mind trick.

"It does not take a majority to prevail but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."
