I agree as well, if we would just just get the 'forgiveness' bit down, we would really have our Jubilee now! The problem lies in the fact:
Those who deny that they are in need of forgiveness are also the ones who will deny forgiveness to others.
There are the self-righteous types in our day, just as there were in His. They often seem to run the 'show', but in the end, the One who could say "Father, Forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.", Triumphed over all, then and there.
But there is still work to be done, and much of it is in myself. I don't always want to forgive, either. (at least not right away, sometimes I'd rather have 'justice now"....or I think I would, until I remember what full justice would give me as my due) But then I realize Jesus was right: Do not condemn, lest you be condemned. So we grow into forgiving as He has forgiven us.
"Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern." ~~C.S. Lewis
Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15
