It absolutely is and has been

going on for years. Many people afraid of repercussions to themselves and co-workers -vs- the jailing of someone that they already deemed "worthless" and a danger to society. It's "one of those many things" that many in certain occupations know about, but don't find it necessarily important to try and prove when weighing the options. Your loss of employment, being permanently blacklisted, and possibly having things turned against you(imagine people coming after you and losing your house/family/wealth & possible liberty in the process), just for doing the "right" thing. Many that would know the consequences well in advance, would NEVER EVER do what Bradley Manning did, much less for people that they already judged in their minds to be considered criminals and leeches/dangers to society by many in those occupational circles. Sad reality.
