Blessed be the Name of the Lord

I understand we live in a fallen world and so we are subjected to all kinds of woes because sin entered the world. But also in my understanding there are many reasons for things that happen in a person’s life. I think the important thing is that we are able to say as Job did in chapter 13, vs. 15: Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

The Apostle Paul also give example of this and declares that it is when we are weak that He is strong:

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Some things are hardships are endured for the pure glory of God so that He might perform a miracle:
John 9:1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Some things we never understand:
Exodus 4:11 KJV
And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

Some things are to try our faith:
Job 2:3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said , Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. 5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. 6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

There are people who do not understand these things. Since my brother-in-law is a Pastor, many people reason, "well, look what serving God has gotten you...aren't you mad at God for letting you get cancer after all you have done for him."

You and I understand that God is not to blame, but people do blame God and God knows that. Blame is part of the process of grief. And there are those that spend a lifetime bitter against God because of the things that happen in their lives. So, my brother-in-law is able to give testimony and glory to God in his sickness.

Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
