What savings?

Most of the uneducated masses don't care about their own wealth, they are too busy living from paycheck to paycheck, or government handout to government handout. The personal saving rate at one time in America was in the 6%-7% range, but in the 21st century has hovered more in the 3%-4% range. In fact I think that just this past January it came in at a low 2.4%. With traditional savings accounts and other saving vehicles paying nearly zero interest, their is no incentive to save, even if one was so inclined. Citizens, just like their government, are hooked on spend, spend, spend. What gets the masses excited is worrying about other people's wealth and the socialist mantra "from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs". I still don't think that many will take an interest in learning about the value of the dollar. In this scenario, I think it's going to take a SHTF moment(s) before the masses wake up.

I'd love to see your ideas happen and work, I just don't think they are very realistic.
