when I talk about sales tax I am always careful, or at least I try to be, by saying that it is MORE consensual...as in the case where taxes exist, and last time I checked that's pretty much everywhere.
In this particular case with the bridge, I would say that you have probably pitched the best case so far explaining how sales tax still qualifies as theft, but the question would still remain:
how would the bridge owner's property right trump the right to life? specifically if somebody had a medical emergency and didn't have money for a toll? AND that bridge was the only means of travel...
I would be happy with no taxes whatsoever...just to be clear.
