Because there are people who freely give downvotes with NO explaination, to me, they are not part of a debate.
How many times have you read a post (or made one) that asks: "Why the downvotes"?
While I do believe the vast majority of downvotes indicate disagreement(s) with the topic or reply post, unless the downvoter gives an explaination, one really doesn't KNOW, "why the downvote?". Some downvotes are nothing but vidictive and spitefull (by those who lost former debates and unwilling to openly debate in fear they will lose again).
