That's the bottom line. I'll add that "natural state" does not include "genetically-engineered products." I couldn't help but notice that typical foods eaten by Americans that the heart surgeon said caused chronic inflammation/heart disease included soybean and corn oil, also sugar and simple carbohydrates, e.g., high fructose corn syrup.
How do we know the full reason *why* that is the case? I hardly think it is inconsequential that over 90% of soybeans and 85% of the corn we grow here in America is genetically engineered. Apparently "the Grocery Manufacturers of America has estimated that as much as 80 percent of processed food on US shelves contains GM ingredients." Yes, if Americans wish to end this epidemic of heart disease, it would be wise to return to foods closer to their natural state.
