Consumption of salt is self limiting. See how much sea water you can drink. See how much fruit juice (sugar) you can drink. See how much soda (salt and sugar) you can drink. The common ingredient that causes over consumption is refined sugar. Vilifying salt, a vital mineral, that is inherently self limiting in its consumption and ignoring an unnecessary nutrient's (sugar's) ability to wreck havoc on our metabolism has been disingenuous and deceitful.
