What FDR did in 1937 was another (big) nail in the coffin of personal liberty and responsibility.

The government didn't think we were smart or disciplined enough to prepare for our retirements.

But one important question I have is; Where is it written that anyone even has a RIGHT to retire at a certain age - chosen by some government agency???

Somewhere along the way we started believing we are entitled to stop working at an agreed upon age and recreate the rest of our lives.

That's all well and good if you can afford to do that, by having worked hard and saved wisely all your live.

But since Socialist Security steals so much money from each of us, we are FORCED to play by their rules and save the way the government says we're going to save.

I've paid nearly $90,000 into FICA and Medicare and I have NOT been a high earner. I'm 55 years-old and my best year ever was just around $50,000 a year, so based on that, the government has taken a high percentage of the money I've earned - which I COULD have invested and saved.

And if I didn't prepare for retirement, then I would just have to keep on working as long as needed.

But the government says everyone at age 62 can stop working and go play golf or go on cruises for the next few decades.

That is unless you die before collecting, which is a big-government's DREAM.
