I'm not in any way defending Obamacare, just to be clear.
I don't understand how a freelancer can be considered an employee. Do you work a couple of jobs and call it freelancing or are you a subcontracted freelancer?
If you're an employee than I'm sorry for your loss of hours, if you're a subcontractor, you should up your hourly rate or explain to them that you work for yourself and help them out when they need it. If they happen to need it 50 hours a week, then so be it, you aren't one of their employees limited by all the rules and such.
Note: If they're taking taxes out of your check, you're an employee.
