Choose strife for conscience and truth instead

There are no 69 ways about it.

Belief and/or faith mean taking something for granted. Like an irrefutable argument. I'm not protecting Wittgenstein's argument here, rather merely pointing that religion gives answers and stops its followers from ever really testing them.

Anyone remembers the movie 'Interstate 60'? There was a particular scene there with card test:

Some things people would never notice because they are conditioned not to. Religion, intently or not, serves the same purpose. Of course religion is not the only way that goal is achieved, but nevertheless - whole religious premise is about this.

Religion has nothing to do with truth. Nothing to do with logic. And lastly - nothing to do with freedom.

Sad. But there you go.
