It's a mental health thing, "agree to disagree."
I think it may be a by-product of internet anonymity. Do you sit around a squabble with people at a sign wave or meetup? Or even a GOP meeting? Face to face, people are better at letting differences go and working together for whatever common bond brought them together.
However, I LIKE a certain amount of internet squabble. The times I have had my beliefs changed, it was because someone presented me with contradicting FACTS. A little fussing is worth a lot of truth, in the end.
But it is a fine thing to stop once in a while, look around this place, and give thanks for what we have here.
