You can't ever trust

You can't ever trust completely, but that is sort of the point.

These days people trust banks because they think banks are 'insured' but they are insured by their own taxes!

But worst is it causes a moral hazard. People should be cautious, and banks should compete not just on interest returns and services but prudence. The risk should be contained between the depositor and the bank, period. It should not be socialized onto taxpayers, many of whom are working poor and gain no benefit, and who will in fact suffer when the insurance turns rare isolated failures into one big systemic failure.

You are most secure when you know there is no absolute security.

In love. In money. In body. In spirit.

When you are tricked into believing someone else will take care of your security that is when you are in peril.
