Another cost of sugar price-fixing

We put quotas on production and limit imports for a product with inelastic demand. Yeah, a sweet deal for the sugar industry. And in addition to Americans paying unnecessarily higher prices for sugar, we also pay in terms of health consequences thanks to health risks associated with sugar's cheap replacement, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP:
