bees don't recognize property lines. Neither does Monsanto, unless they are suing you for their patented pollen being carried by the wind onto your crops.
The situation with the bees is troubling. I believe they are a canary in the coal mine, so to speak.
I would imagine there is a variety of things harming them. It does make one wonder how it is affecting us.
My stepdad and his neighbor across the street have gotten into beekeeping. It may just be an excuse for them to go hang out in the woods and sip fine whiskey. They both love it dearly and are planning to expand their one hive. It's kind of like aquaponics. Once you get the hive self sustainable, they pretty much take care of themselves.
When they harvest the honey, they take it across the street far away from the hive, but the bees somehow track it down and will come and recycle what is left on the of the centrifuge.
They are definitely fascinating little creatures.
