Here in San Diego, a friend once complained about the homelessness problem, saying that when she lived in such-and-such big city to the northeast, she never saw homeless people wandering around. She attributed it to the homeless shelters being a priority in that city while not being a priority here in SD. I had figured that it didn't HAVE to be a priority here because nobody's going to freeze to death here. This article provides another option for why she never saw homeless people there.
It's so sad when these people are evicted from whatever place they choose to live in. Sure, where they're living in unsanitary, but that's no good reason to force them to try and find another place to exist. They have their reasons for being where they are.
