The problem with your favored

The problem with your favored strategy is that it prevents true change once someone like Rand is elected. Let's say there is a crash and Rand wins the White House. He has spent all these years pushing milktoast gosh "I don't oppose student loans" "I support Israel" libertarianism, and he won't be able to push any meaningful change. This strategy conditions the public to think someone like Ron Paul is truly wacko.
