I understand the USA is a people made of immigrants

I understand the USA is a people made of immigrants who, supposedly, like... correction: love... the idea of liberty and self-reliance, for peace, prosperity.

Permanent alien resident, here (finally).

It took me three years of paperwork. $600 or so of filing fees. I was already partly sustaining one american relative BEFORE putting foot on U.S. soil for the first time. I haven't taken one penny from other U.S. tax payers via the state, but I had the "great" (read: forced) pleasure to contribute with my taxes in the couple dozens thousands $$$ in four years already.

Should I mention I never had even one fine or slightest misdemeanor? I still don't know what it looks like in a police station over here.

Do I complain about ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE? HELL, NO.

I am PROUD OF IT. This was... A PIECE OF CAKE. For me, anyway.

Am I welcome in this country, now? I believe I am, hopefully, Mr. Obama?

I have only one recommendation to make to the american people:

FIGHT those who want to bring more social and have a rhetoric based solely on race, income, or any other classifier re: immigration.

To me, an acceptable immigrant, rich or poor, any color, etc, is someone who... MERELY...

CAN PROVE HE/SHE LOVES THE U.S. CONSTITUTION with HARD EVIDENCES, by his/her example...

... oh, about what?

Well, just refer to the first sentence that started this comment.

To put it shorter :

FIGHT THE SOCIALIST VIEW POINT ON IMMIGRATION.

AS FIERCELY AS YOU CAN.

Just my most sincere advice to you, U.S. citizens.

If followed as a guideline, everything will be alright.

Peace.
