Spouse and I got pulled over in a drug interdiction zone. The next day we gave the sheriff grief over it. That's when they said that we really got pulled over because we were going 2 miles over the speed limit. Liars.
The lady cop was interested in the nursery plants we had in the back of the pickup, and when that didn't pan out, she tried to get us to incriminate ourselves for having commit "suspicious movements" in the cab of our truck after she had already pulled us over. That didn't work out for her either because by law the only two suspicious movements at a time like that are making a u-turn and throwing something out the window. So, two miles over the speed limit was their fallback position. The cop had not even asked for a driver's license or registration or proof on insurance, it was suuuch an important stop.
The sheriff of Cootenai County said that if we didn't like what his deputies did, that we could sue, because he wasn't going to admit that his cop shop did anything wrong.
