Can't find the link for now, but I recall this story of a couple teenage girls, in '09 or so, getting lost in the Australian wilderness (no water, of course) with a cell phone - within range of a relay antenna - think they immediately dialed their 911 after realizing?
Nope. First thought was to update their Facebook status. "Omg! Omg! *cries* Etc."
Yup, they called for help via Facebook.
By miracle, they got rescued. Their battery didn't die too early.
Some people are pretty darn lucky, if one asks me.
