I understand what you are saying

But, the "they are not real Christians" defense is a cop-out and is used every time a Christian, real or not, has no evidence. Because, you made the claim that real Christians are persecuted, constantly. But, I have never observed or even know of a case of a Christian being persecuted for being a Christian. So, if there is no evidence of persecution, then how can the "real" Christians be identified?

And no, I don't just reject the faith of our "wisest founders" (I'm assuming you mean other than Thomas Paine - the greatest of them all, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Samuel Adams, etc....) I reject all faith because faith is not a pathway to truth. Faith causes people to believe in claims with no evidence or even causational relationships - like the claim that Christians are persecuted.
