He looks like a Connecticut School of Broadcasting graduate. The guy obviously has no idea how television works. While both microphones have separate pots, most engineers are going to pot up both mics at the beginning of the broadcast, because it eliminates the risk of forgetting to turn his up a few seconds or minutes later. I can't believe he was talking down into his lapel mic. If he had any sense he'd know that his mic was live because she was live... and even if his mic had been potted down, he was speaking loudly enough to be heard by her microphone. This guy is a f***ing retard. That was painful to watch.
