Comment: What they both miss.

(See in situ)

What they both miss.

What they both miss is that the Average American does not live near a fertilizer plant and does not live in Iraq but after seeing the carnage at the Boston Marathon, realize that they too are vulnerable to such attacks while even attending a Little League game or rock concert. What most Americans miss it the statistically small odds of a terrorist attack harming them directly. It is like the irrationality of people who refuse to fly because they have seen the results of plane crashes and instead choose to drive to their destination. These folks fail to realize that air travel is statistically safer than car travel but most Americans have irrational minds. Need additional proof? Just look at who they have elected as POTUS over the past few decades.

It is about irrational fear as much as anything and the media and government LOVE to play on people's fears through crap like the 1968 Gun Control Act, The Patriot Act, NDAA etc. It is all irrational BS designed to control the simpletons of society.

Remember that half the people in the USA have below average IQs and average is not too good to start with.
