Actually nobody pays you in dollars unless they pay you

in silver or gold.

That's what a dollar is. It's a unit of measurement. One dollar = 371 1/4 grains fine silver (.999) or 48.4 grains fine gold (.999).

When they put "dollar" on the federal reserve note that is fraud unless you can go trade your dollar in for a dollar in silver or gold.

A dollar is similar to an ounce, pound, inch, mile... etc etc... It's just a way to measure certain things.
