Not Sure...

if we crossed wires here. It seems your take is that I am strongly opinionated. This is true. Your sentence "It seems objective hearing is difficult even in your defense of "what really torques" you -- was a little confusing. First of all, I don't believe there is any purely "objective" hearing out there, including myself. I believe there are degrees of ability to hear another person's view without pre-judging. I maintain that not many people are practiced at good listening (close to objective). You are a good example, imo. Secondly, I was not making a "defense" of what torques me. I was simply stating what torques me. The "objective hearing" and the "torquing" issues are discreetly unique, but you seem to conflate them in what I believe is a reactionary reply to my view. This happens when people don't listen, so you are not an exception to the general rule, I'm afraid. I am torqued at anyone (regardless of whether they appear to "listen" first), who condescends, oversimplifies and disdains. This is a separate, though related point beyond the likely precursor of "not listening."

I happen to agree that someone can be tenaciously opinionated and remain persuasive. In fact those types are some of the most persuasive. Where Alex Jones is concerned, I tend to agree that the place from which he opines rings true. I like Alex Jones and find his grasp of history and ability to synthesize enormous amounts of history with current events nearly unmatched in the media world. His passion and style do make him a target -- but mainly for those people who don't listen (give a "fair hearing).

So why did I get the "gut" tone from your reply to me as snarky, when I think my view probably is the same as yours, in the end? Crossed wires? Mis-communication? Problems with the two of us strongly opinionated souls not listening or hearing well? LOL.
