This is what I am hearing when I hear Gandhi's words:

You Christians sure don't act like Christ. I think it is a fair critism, not a judgement. I don't know what caused Gandhi to say those words, but I think it is worth finding out. People are supposed to know Christ's disciples because of their love.

The other thing, I realize it is dismaying to see non-Christians not acting like you think they should act. But what do you expect? They are not followers of Christ so why should they act like Christians? Why would you even expect a non-Christian to act like a Christian is supposed to act?

This is how a Christian is supposed to act:

Acts 24:16 KJV
And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

IMO, non-Christians should only be offended by a Christian's love, not a holier-than-thou attitude. And that is the reason, IMO that people are supposed to leave people alone when they do not want to hear.

Luke 9:5 KJV
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

The testimony will be that they did not want to hear, not that you wore out your welcome. There are people who have let me know they don't want me to talk "religion" with them. Guess what. I don't. I still love them. They are people. I don't know God's plan for their lives, but I am not going to be a hindrance to it. They have set a boundary and I respect that boundary. They may still hate me, but it will not be because of me, it will be because of Christ in me.

Romans 13:8 KJV
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
