I don't think they're on the exact same level, but they both break God's law and the scripture teaches that anyone that breaks the law at even one point becomes a "law breaker" against the law. Since God's law is not a set of rules but an outworking or expression of who God is. He is Holy and when we break his law with cursing or killing or adultery or hate in our hearts or in action we become guilty before him.

James 2:10
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
