Yeah, we are losing money per rebuild, but will make it up on volume.

Not to sound like a broken record again.... but...

If the roads were being paid for directly by those who care (surrounding shop owners, etc through a coop of highly interested individuals) instead of spread across a bunch of tax payers that do not have knowledge, interest, etc. It wouldn't take too many times before they did it in a way that lasted longer.

No reason it needs to be government enforced, paid for, and decided by.
