Be part of your regional food system. The food is expensive but definitely better. Co-ops are a good source. You need to be organized and plan your meals better than when using a regular retail store. Maybe volunteer in exchange for food. Another advantage, if tshtf, you will already at least know people in the food system. You can have control of your food but you have to make more effort because it is still a small small, but is growing. Regular retail stores are getting better food too because small food producers are growing with the whole food freedom movement and the retail stores are beginning to buy from smaller producers.
