"If we were talking about

"If we were talking about vaccinations would you feel the same way?"

^^^ That is what is known as an "appeal to emotion". IOW, it's useless as a tool for understanding.

Yes, 15 is a minor. 15 can also be a parent, a wife, a child, a soldier, a king, a pharoah, a nuclear physicist, a college graduate, a wilderness guide, etc.. The age is a matter of convention set by law. If we switch from birth control to alcohol, then 20 is a minor. Switch to trick-or-treating, and the age becomes 13. We wouldn't want the gov't to conduct compulsory individual evaluations to determine what rights we are "mature" enough to handle, so they have to establish arbitrary cut-offs as a matter of necessity, else parent would have to acknowledge the rights of their children.(Which would be the end of society or some crap, Iunno.)

All I know is that my adopted 14 year old can reduce ANY authority figure that can't explain themselves properly to "cuz I said so". To which she replies,"fair enough. But I still don't agree cuz you make no sense. I'm only doing it cuz you said so out of respect."

Anyone who says that the "average" 15 year old isn't as capable of decision making as an "adult" is not only guilty subjecting teens to damaging collectivist sophistry, but also gives adults too much credit!!! Where are these super responsible, mature, logical adults that you speak of?

"I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual."
