Socialism wasn't the point I

Socialism wasn't the point I was trying to make. Although the link was about the unsustainability of socialism, the point I was trying to make was WHY.

The reason WHY is the fact that gov'ts do everything through compulsion. I order to judge the effectiveness (or honesty or whatever you want to call it)of a regulation, you would have to have peoples' voluntary, un-coersed input. But of course, the point of regulation is to override peoples' voluntary choices. THe contradiction leaves the gov't no way to judge a regulation's efficacy. They are left with whimsical and arbitrary decision, based mainly on.....the logical fallacy known as an "appeal to emotion".

Believe me, if they could do better, they would. it would surely help come election time. However, when the only thing they have to base these regulations on are logical fallacies, what do you expect?

"I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual."
