It's likely the video codecs and/or drivers

on your computer. Happens to me occasionally; I'll try watching a random video on Youtube, only for my laptop to freeze up for a few seconds while it 'adjusts' itself in the best cases, BSOD at worst.

Downloading and looking at the properties of the videos that caused this for me revealed that the files were all compressed in a way my laptop didn't understand, and I'd wager the same thing is happening to your computer.
