I'm sorry to see this.

There are those who believe (I've been reading the comments) that this is a religious war. Most Americans believe that, especially Christians, neo-conservatives.

There are those who believe that both sides are being controlled by the same powers. I tend to believe that, because there are both Jews and Muslims who are peaceable and don't want war. Possibly violent factions of both religions (or within each religion) contribute to this, but it's hard to believe there isn't a larger force behind religious disagreements.

The basic difference in philosophy is hard to get around. There won't be agreement.

Looking for the truth is important and time-consuming.

War never solves anything. There has to be another reason for it; there always has been. Someone benefits from it, or it wouldn't happen.
