as a member, i would definitely not say the Church is not worried about the cost of things.

the Church is very practical and wise and so of course we think about the cost of things. he is right in the sense that if something is our mission we don't let the cost stand in the way of doing it.

but being fiscally responsible is one of the core beliefs and practices of our Church and one of the basic teachings we have for members to practice in our own lives.

we believe in not getting into debt, if you are, get out, and save as much money as you can for the future. that is why the Church is totally self-sufficient and the members are encouraged to be, though that's an individual thing that some of us are still learning- me, included. :)
