I Have Used This Example In My Arguments for Peace

"County Waterford-based diver Eoin McGarry, on behalf of Lusitania's American owner, Gregg Bemis, has recovered live ammunition from the wreck." - http://archive.archaeology.org/0901/trenches/lusitania.html

EVERY Neoconservative, Rush Limbaugh-loving, Ron Paul-foreign policy-hating person I have every backed into a corner over the follies of intervention in the Iraq War or Vietnam War will ALWAYS go back to the whole "You think we shouldn't have fought against the Nazi's" argument for a pro-invasion US foreign policy.

I remember when the article about Gregg Bemis came to the forefront and it confirmed what many have said regarding the public opinion shift into going into WW1, the Lusitania. The status quo statement was that those damned Nazi's attacked civilians. The Nazi's warned that any ship carrying arms to British forces would be sunk. it was well known that the US government was sending arms to the British, but it was not known that the US government was using civillians as human shields.

It is amazing to see how the arguments used to justify fighting the "terrorists" were actions that the US government was utilizing themself. It is a travesty or a mockery of a sham for sure.
