Living resourcefully is living abundantly

I like the way you guys roll and role model! Like many others here, we're trying to invest much of our time, talents, and resources in serving our families and communities in a way that honors God and conscience in ways that will impact our counties, states, and our nation as a whole.

We're tempted to feel that a sabbath break to worship, or an outing in the woods is somehow impractical, even risky; because some urgent prepping item or skill needs to be acquired before such thing can be prioritized highly. We would like to believe that the kingdom of God ought to be sought first because receiving the promise of, "all these things shall be added unto you", sounds better than trying to tough it out without, "grace to help in time of need".

Actually, my experience has been that folks who enjoy living simply, and are more at home in the wild than most; enjoy life more in practical ways than citified folks who are too caught up in their high tech toys and appliances. There is something about getting nourishment from nature, while providing safety and comfort to those near and dear to us; that proves to us that we still have a connection to that original garden, and the God who made us from the dust and breathed life into us there.

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass
