While I have problems with this bill

It isn't exactly a gold and silver registration bill. It is a requirement for wholesalers who purchase gold and silver to record what they buy and retain the information for two years with the implication that it is for tracking stolen property. If I'm reading the text of the bill properly, an individual purchasing gold or silver has no registration requirement, nor does a dealer have to keep a record of items sold.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a good idea at all, but we need to be accurate in our description of bills. People outside of the liberty movement are easily persuaded that we are paranoid and should be ignored about everything when we make incorrect statements about potential legislation.
