He has marginalized the economy

Quite well without the need to war, take the toxic effect of ObamaCare alone upon the current and future of small business's ( THE prime mover of employment statistics ) which is predicted by the CBO to cost TWICE as much per year to the treasury as Obama stated originally (3.4 trillion as verses 1.7 , yearly added to the debt all by itself ).
Then factor in the jobs destroying over regulation by the EPA, the MMS, the potential impeachable and equally destructive targeting of employers based upon political ideology by the IRS....

All this taken into context shows that without being at war ( besides the fact we are at war already in NINE nations ) we are at present hemhorraging positive economic growth at a rate roughly TWICE as fast as we did at the start of WWII.

And wether we like it or not, and we DON'T, to say that warfare is a DRAIN on an economy is a crass misunderstanding of reality, so I'm hoping I just misunderstood your comment is all.
For it seems, and I'm sure it's purposefully so, that the most prosperous economic times seem to follow closely the increase of production within the MIC. War is profitable for a few, why else would we do it if it were not that someone profited?
THIS isn't an endorsement of war, or the profit gained from war, but it is a sad statement of reality.
