female flower/bud is the same on either variety. What you might be trying to refer (hehe reefer) to is "Sensimilla" which is a group of strictly female plants with the males ...ehem..weeded out.
When a female plant gets pollinated and bears seed, its potency gets lowered. That is why some outdoor high grade "sensimillia" growers would not want to grow close to hemp because it would cross pollinate and not only seed their crop, but contaminate it with the lesser potent genetics of the hemp plant.
This is why some politicians are hesitant to legalize hemp production because they think people could hide "high grade sensimilla" cannabis plants among the hemp plants, which would be pointless as they would be ruined genetically.
Make sense? (or sensimillia?) I'm just full of puns today and I'm not even trying...;)
