Interesting.

As a software engineer, in every company I have ever worked for, I have always been required to be on-call in some capacity 24/7. If there is a critical software failure, I have to show up. One company would issue pagers for the sole purpose of calling you in.

Why do I do that? It's a part of my job, it's what I get paid to do.

But these guys are too good to get woken up out of bed in the middle of the night to protect someone who really needs it?
