Saying video games "damage the brain" (awfully vague) and brainwash are copout arguments, IMO. It reminds me of that old argument about how listening to heavy metal made people want to shoot up schools.
Sure, you have games like Call of Duty that glorify US aggression, but what exactly is so 'bad' about say, Tetris?
Also, haven't there been several studies which showed surgeons who played video games tended to have better hand-eye coordination than those who didn't? What about educational games that (eventually) got me interested in economics, history, mythologies and maths?
Just saying, there are pros too.
All that said, I don't play much anymore; too busy most days. I still like firing up SimCity every now and again though...
