The fallacy here is the implication that there has to be one.

Contrary to neocon fantasy, the world neither wants nor needs a superpower.

The Chinese give no indication of seeking that status, and if that changed? So what. Let them spend themselves back into the dark ages trying, it wont help them anymore than it has us.
