Right now I'd be concerned about his life... terms of his destination......

WikiLeaks, the organization that released extensive classified American diplomatic communications three years ago, said in a statement on its Twitter feed that it had “assisted Mr. Snowden’s political asylum in a democratic country, travel papers” and safe exit from Hong Kong, and said in a follow-up Twitter posting that, “Mr. Snowden is currently over Russian airspace accompanied by WikiLeaks legal advisers.”

I'd be a little more worried about CIA hitmen infiltrating South America than I would in Iceland, as it's more isolated, plus the CIA hitmen would stick out like a sore thumb in Iceland, as they wouldn't know that language. The Icelandic locals would be on the lookout for any suspicious-looking characters there a lot more than you would be able to do the same thing in Venezuela or South America. The population in South America is much greater, therefore the risk is much greater.

The latest reports say that he may stay overnight in the Venezuelan Embassy in Russia. This might seem to indicate that he may be headed for Venezuela, but would this be wise, given the points just mentioned. Perhaps Iceland, now, will open the door to Edward Snowden. I still believe he would fit in the Iceland culture very well. But, even more importantly, he would be safer there.
