how do you miss the first 2/3rds of a book?

The main theme of the book was get rid of the looters or the country will die. It made it clear that there are poor looters and there are rich looters who all want to use the government to give them stuff they have not worked for. But the really fun part of the book was instead of trying to save the country like almost every other story would have the main characters doing, the main characters just do their best to help it collapse which is an awesome irony considering the theme of the book.
Seriously though it would not be difficult to compare atlas shrugged with today government and point out we have too many chiefs and not enough indians, or too many captains will steer the ship up a mountain. How many federal departments regulate food and drugs, at every stage, add to that state and local departments. Even if you are a die hard liberal and think that you need government watching out for us in the products we buy I would think you would agree you dont need 5 10 15 different government entities doing the same job.
