I just got back from 2 weeks in Australia. A lot of people I talked to didn't seem to be big fans of the Asian immigrant population. However, it didn't seem overly hostile, they were more making fun of them than anything. One thing I saw a lot of hostility towards was the perceived lack of U.S. gun control laws. People looked at me like I was completely nuts when I tried to talk positive about guns.

I loved talking to the native Aussies. You guys have no problem bringing up politics, religion, or race issues within the first 5 minutes of meeting someone. That might make some people uncomfortable, but I absolutely loved it.
