The most captivating book I have ever read about the universe and one of its objects:
"Black Holes", by Jean-Pierre Luminet
Can't speak about the latter's (translation) quality yet, and sad/ashamed I lost my french copy while moving a few years ago, but I know I'll read-devore it again, in either languages, once I get another copy back.
