The person that replied to me says that the hybrids are often sterile, but I have planted the seeds for years and have grown good plants. Some could have been sterile. I've never had 100% of them come up. Often I do get plants that aren't quite the same as the ones I planted, but they still produce fairly well. I think they are "throwbacks" to the parent plants that were crossed to make the hybrid. Hell, I have grown so many different types and they keep cross pollinating, I don't know what I have...but so what, I'm happy with the productive outcome. I do still try different heirlooms and hybrids on occasion.
If you have the plants growing and they seem health, give them a chance and see what happens. If they look sort of scrawny, probably best to not waste your time.
