is the initiation of force. I know of no other need for police in a free society then to: apprehend an individual that has infringed upon another individual's life, liberty, or property. Why are most arrests for individuals that have harmed no one?
I have no problems with police defending themselves, but when the police are the ones initiating the violence then the whole 'defending themselves' starts to sound like bullshit.
Individuals that initiate harm against other individuals are criminals, and I hate criminals.
Also I can't stand the double standard bs. If I shot a K-9 police dog that was attacking me I would be arrested and charged. If I initiated violence against another individual I would be arrested and charged. Add to that the fact that police NEVER face the same penalties as a regular individual would when they're convicted of crimes. Heck the cop that executed Oscar Grant in front of 200 witnesses only got 11 months in jail. I wonder what Oscar's sentence would've been had he and a group of friends held down officer Mehserle and then executed him...I'm guessing a lot longer then 11 months.
