It will be interesting to see if the Tall el-Hammam site near the Dead Sea continues to reveal signs of having been Sodom or one of the nearby cities that was suddenly destroyed.

I see the ultimate restoration of Sodom and Jerusalem that I mentioned above as possibly being in the age to come, with New Jerusalem and the new heaven and earth. After all, it's kind of hard to imagine a true restoration of Sodom now, with the inhabitants having been so utterly punished. Where are the descendants? I think we will see these people restored in the new world, through the Love of their God. Christ, after His death, went to preach to those who had been caught up in the destruction of Noah's day -- their story is not at an end, either, I do believe. All shall be well in the end.
